Summary

The investment seeks high capital growth with less volatility than an all-stock portfolio. The fund seeks to remain close to the target allocations of 80% equity, 15% fixed income and 5% cash and cash equivalents (including money market funds) and typically does not change its target allocation. The equity allocation is further divided into three segments: 40% of assets for large-cap, 20% for small-cap and 20% for international. It invests mainly in other Schwab Funds®, including index funds, which seek to track the total returns of various market indices.
