The investment seeks income and more growth potential than an all-bond portfolio. The portfolio invests mainly in other Schwab Funds®, including index funds, which seek to track the total returns of various market indices. Its allocation is weighted toward bond investments, while including substantial stock investments in seeking to obtain long-term growth. The portfolio seeks to remain close to the target allocations of 55% fixed income, 40% equity and 5% cash and cash equivalents (including money market funds) and typically does not change its target allocation.
