The investment seeks a high level of income consistent with reasonable risk; capital appreciation is a secondary objective. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its assets in income-producing securities such as debt securities, common stocks, and preferred stocks. Debt securities in which the fund may invest include, but are not limited to, U.S. government agency securities and variable or floating-rate instruments. It normally invests in equity securities of companies with a market capitalization of approximately $400 million or higher. The fund may also invest in equity securities of Real Estate Investment Trusts ("REITs").
