Summary

The investment seeks high current income consistent with preservation of capital. The fund invests at least 80% of net assets in corporate bonds and notes, government securities, taxable municipal obligations, securities backed by mortgages or other assets and TIPS. The dollar-weighted average maturity of its portfolio will be between 3 and 10 years. At least 70% of total assets must be invested in U.S. government securities or securities rated in the four highest investment grade categories by Moody's or S&P, or their equivalent. The fund may invest up to 25% of its assets in bonds and other fixed-income securities of foreign issuers payable in U.S. dollars.
