The investment seeks to offer long-term capital growth and diversification by country. The fund invests primarily in the common stocks of companies headquartered outside the United States. It normally invests at least 80% of its net assets in foreign equity securities (common and preferred stock), including securities of issuers located in emerging market countries. Strategies used by the fund's subadvisers include: 1) investing in equity securities believed to have above-average potential for growth across multiple capitalization sizes; and 2) investing in equity securities believed to be priced below fair market value at the time of purchase.
