The fund invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of high yield fixed-income securities (often referred to as "junk bonds") issued by both U.S. and foreign companies. It normally invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings) in high yield fixed-income securities. The fund may invest in both convertible and non-convertible high yield bonds, and each shall be considered high yield fixed-income securities for purposes of its policy of investing at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings) in junk bonds.
