Fund Overview
The investment seeks to maximize total return by investing primarily in fixed income securities rated below investment grade (i.e., "junk bonds"). The fund invests at least 80% of assets in fixed income securities rated below investment grade, including corporate bonds and debentures, convertible securities, preferred securities, zero coupon obligations and debt securities that are issued by U.S. and foreign governments and their agencies. The average maturity of the fund's investments varies, and there is no limit on the maturity or on the credit quality of any security held by the fund.
