The investment seeks high current income. The fund pursues its investment objective by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of high-yield, lower-rated corporate bonds (also known as "junk bonds"). It primarily invests in domestic high-yield bonds but may invest a portion of its portfolio in securities of issuers based outside of the United States (so-called "foreign securities") in both emerging and developed markets. The fund may invest in derivative contracts and/or hybrid instruments to implement elements of its investment strategy as more fully described in the fund's Prospectus.
