The investment seeks tax-free income. The fund normally attempts to invest 100% of its assets in municipal securities, and as a fundamental policy, it invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in municipal securities. The fund will not invest in municipal securities the interest on which would be subject to the federal "alternative minimum tax" (AMT). It may invest in obligations that pay interest at fixed or variable rates.
