The investment seeks maximum real return consistent with preservation of capital. The fund invests in securities through an underlying master fund having the same investment goals and strategies. It normally invests primarily in inflation-protected securities issued by the U.S. government, its agencies and instrumentalities. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus the amount of borrowings, if any, for investment purposes) in inflation-protected securities and other investments with similar economic characteristics. The fund invests primarily in investment-grade securities, but may also invest in lower quality securities.
