The investment seeks to provide investors with a total return in excess of the total return of the major market indices for mortgage-backed securities. The fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in bonds (debt securities) issued by the U.S. government or its agencies and instrumentalities and synthetic instruments or derivatives having economic characteristics similar to such debt securities. It will seek to minimize credit risk by investing in securities of the highest credit quality.
