The fund invests at least 80% of net assets in U.S. treasury obligations and obligations issued or guaranteed as to principal and interest by agencies or instrumentalities of the U.S. government, including mortgage-backed securities, and repurchase agreements collateralized by such obligations. It may invest in securities issued by various entities sponsored by the U.S. government, such as the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA or Fannie Mae) and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC or Freddie Mac).
