The investment seeks to match the total return of the Standard & Poor's 500® Composite Stock Price Index (S&P 500®). To pursue its goal, the fund normally invests at least 95% of its total assets in common stocks included in the S&P 500®. To replicate index performance, the fund's portfolio managers use a passive management approach and purchase all or a representative sample of securities comprising the S&P 500®. It generally invests in all 500 stocks in the S&P 500® in proportion to their weighting in the index.
