Summary

The investment seeks to match, as closely as possible, before expenses, the performance of the Standard & Poor's 500 Stock Index (the "index"), which emphasizes stocks of large U.S. companies. The Stock Index Fund is a feeder fund, meaning that it invests all of its investable assets in a master portfolio. It invests its assets in the S&P 500 Stock Master Portfolio ("Master Portfolio"). The Master Portfolio pursues its investment objective by investing in all of the securities that make up the index and investing in these securities in proportions that approximate the weightings of the index.
