Summary

The investment seeks to replicate as closely as possible, before expenses, the performance of the Standard & Poor's 500 Index. The fund invests substantially all of its investable assets in the Equity 500 Index Portfolio, which has the same investment objective as, and investment policies that are substantially similar to those of, the fund. It uses a passive management strategy designed to track the performance of the S&P 500. The fund generally intends to invest in all 500 stocks comprising the S&P 500 in approximate proportion to their weightings in the index.
