Summary

The investment seeks current income through regular payment of dividends with the secondary goal of achieving capital appreciation by investing primarily in equity securities. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in the equity securities of corporations that regularly pay dividends, including common stocks and debt securities and preferred stock convertible to common stock. It invests primarily in common stock and real estate investment trusts (REITs). The fund will primarily use futures contracts to more effectively gain targeted equity exposure from its cash positions.
