The fund seeks to achieve the investment goal by investing the fund's assets in a combination of equity securities, high quality short-term debt securities and derivative instruments. It normally invests at least 80% of its assets in equity securities. The fund invests primarily in long and short positions in U.S. large cap stocks included in the Russell 1000® Index, although the fund may invest in small and mid-cap equity securities.
