The investment seeks to maximize total return, consistent with income generation and prudent investment management. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in bonds and maintains an average portfolio duration that is within 20% of the duration of the Barclays Capital Long Government/Credit Index. It may invest up to 20% of its assets in any combination of non-investment grade bonds, non-dollar denominated bonds and bonds of emerging market issuers. The fund may buy or sell options or futures on a security or an index of securities, or enter into credit default swaps and interest rate or foreign currency transactions, including swaps.
