The investment seeks to achieve a total return that exceeds that of the fund's benchmark, a composite index composed of the BofA Merrill Lynch U.S. Municipal Large Cap Index (75%) and the Barclays U.S. Long Government Bond Index (25%), on an after-tax basis. The fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing in a diversified portfolio of fixed income debt instruments of varying maturities. Under normal circumstances, it invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in U.S. dollar-denominated, investment-grade fixed income debt instruments.
