The investment seeks to achieve capital growth by engaging in merger arbitrage. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus the amount of borrowings, if any, for investment purposes) in equity securities and other investments with similar economic characteristics of companies (both domestic and foreign) that are involved in publicly announced mergers, takeovers, tender offers, leveraged buyouts, spin-offs, liquidations and other corporate reorganizations. It may enter into equity swap agreements.
