The investment seeks long-term capital growth. The fund invests primarily at least 80% of net assets in common stocks of companies with small to mid-sized market capitalizations. It normally invests in common stocks of companies having market capitalizations within the range of companies comprising the Russell 2500 Index. The fund currently invests its assets in SMID-Cap Portfolio (the "Portfolio"), a separate registered investment company with the same objective and policies as the fund. It may also invest in larger companies.
