The investment seeks capital appreciation and, secondarily, income. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in equity securities of mid cap companies. Mid cap companies are companies that at the time of purchase have market capitalizations in the range of companies included in the S&P MidCap 400 Value Index. It may also invest up to 30% of its total assets in securities issued by foreign companies. The fund may invest in securities denominated in currencies other than the U.S. dollar.
