The investment seeks capital appreciation. The fund seeks to achieve superior risk adjusted returns with a moderate correlation to the U.S. equity markets by investing in equity and debt securities. Under normal market conditions, it seeks investments in the following three general categories: Special Situations/Undervalued Securities, Distressed Companies and Merger Arbitrage Securities. The fund may invest without limit in debt securities or instruments in any rating category established by an independent rating agency, including lower-rated (or comparable unrated) or defaulted debt securities.
