The investment seeks to maximize income while maintaining prospects for capital appreciation. Under normal market conditions, the Portfolio invests in a diversified portfolio of debt instruments and equity securities. The equity securities in which the Portfolio invests consist primarily of common stocks. The Portfolio seeks income by selecting investments such as corporate, foreign, and U.S. Treasury bonds, as well as stocks with dividend yields the sub-adviser ("Sub-Adviser") believes are attractive. It may invest up to 100% of its total assets in debt instruments that are rated below investment-grade.
