The investment seeks a high total investment return, consistent with the preservation of capital and with prudent investment risk. The Portfolio pursues an active asset allocation strategy whereby investments are allocated among three asset classes: equity securities, debt instruments, and money market instruments. It invests at least 50% of its total assets in the common stocks of established U.S. companies the sub-adviser believes to have above-average potential for capital growth. The remaining assets are generally invested in other securities, including convertibles, warrants, preferred stocks, corporate and government debt, bank loans and options.
