The fund normally seeks to invest 100% of its net assets in municipal securities, and as a fundamental policy, invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in California municipal securities that, in the opinion of counsel to the issuer of the securities, are exempt from federal and California individual income taxes. It can expose up to 20% of its total assets to the effects of leverage from its investments in inverse floaters.
