The investment seeks as high a level of current interest income exempt from federal income tax as is available from municipal obligations and as is consistent with prudent investment management and preservation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets in securities the income from which is exempt from federal income taxes, including the federal alternative minimum tax.
