The investment seeks to provide high current income that is exempt from federal income tax. The fund invests primarily in municipal bonds and notes of states, territories and possessions of the United States that are exempt from federal income tax. It will invest at least 80% of its net assets in bonds (or fixed income securities) the income from which is exempt from federal income tax. The fund will invest at least 65% of its net assets in municipal securities. It expects to maintain an average portfolio maturity of between 3 and 10 years.
