Summary
The investment seeks as high a level of current interest income exempt from federal income tax as is consistent with the relative stability of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets in investment grade municipal bonds with a maturity of more than one year, the interest on which is exempt from regular federal income tax. It normally will not invest in securities the interest on which is a tax preference item for purposes of the federal alternative minimum tax (AMT). The fund may invest up to 10% of its net assets in debt securities rated below investment grade.
