Summary

The investment seeks to provide the level of current income consistent with preservation of capital and that is not subject to Federal income tax. The fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing, during normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets in tax-exempt municipal bonds, mainly of investment grade and of any maturity. It attempts to enhance fund performance by utilizing opportunities presented by the shape and slope of the yield curve, while typically striving to keep the overall fund duration within a plus or minus twenty percent (20%) range relative to the fund's stated benchmark.
