Summary
The investment seeks to provide as high a level of current interest income exempt from regular federal, New York State and, in some cases, New York local income taxes as is consistent with preservation of capital. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets municipal bonds that pay interest that is exempt from regular federal and New York personal income tax. The fund may invest without limit in securities that generate income subject to the alternative minimum tax. The fund is a long-term bond fund and, as such, will generally maintain an investment portfolio with an overall weighted average maturity of greater than 10 years.
