Summary

The investment seeks as high a level of income exempt from federal income tax and New York State and New York City personal income taxes as is consistent with its investment policies and prudent investment management. The fund invests at least 95% of its net assets in securities issued by: 1) the State of New York and its political subdivisions, 2) agencies, instrumentalities and public authorities of the State of New York, 3) territories, commonwealths and possessions of the United States. It seeks to maintain a dollar-weighted average effective portfolio maturity of five years or less, however, it can buy securities with maturities of more than five years.
