The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. Under normal conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its assets in common stocks and other equity securities of small-cap companies that the portfolio managers believe are undervalued. The manager considers companies with market capitalizations below $3 billion at the time of acquisition to be small-cap. The fund may also invest in mid-cap stocks, which the fund's managers consider to be companies with market capitalizations between $3 billion and $6 billion at the time of acquisition.
