The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund invests at least 80% of net assets in companies with market capitalizations that do not exceed the maximum market capitalization of any security in the Russell 2000 Index. It invests in small companies whose common stocks are believed to be undervalued. The fund may invest in fixed-income and convertible securities without restrictions on quality or rating, including up to 10% of total assets in below-investment-grade fixed-income securities. It may also invest up to 10% of its total assets in hybrid instruments.
