The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities of companies that compose the Standard & Poor's ("S&P") SmallCap 600 Index at the time of each purchase. The index is designed to represent U.S. equities with risk/return characteristics of the small cap universe. The fund invests in index futures and exchange-traded funds ("ETFs") on a daily basis to gain exposure to the index in an effort to minimize tracking error relative to the benchmark.
