Summary

The investment seeks to provide capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in the common stocks of small companies that are traded on national security exchanges, the NASDAQ stock market and on the over-the-counter market. It normally invests at least 80% of its assets (which include the amount of any borrowing for investment purposes) in small companies. Up to 30% of the fund's net assets may be invested in foreign securities. The fund may invest in fixed-income securities, exchange-traded funds, American Depositary Receipts and use derivative contracts and/or hybrid instruments to implement elements of its investment strategy.
