The investment seeks capital appreciation. The fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets (plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities (both common and preferred stocks) of small companies, including exchange-traded funds based on small capitalization indices and securities of real estate investment trusts. For purposes of this fund, a small company is a company with a market capitalization in the range of companies in the Russell 2000 Index (between $35.70 million and $5.27 billion as of December 31, 2013), as determined at the time of purchase.
