Generally, the fund is invested to some extent in about 40 different PIMCO funds. A dozen or so funds make up the majority of the fund’s total assets at any given time. Each fund has its own strategy and holdings, including bonds, TIPS, commodities, real estate, emerging-markets debt, and some equity strategies.
