Summary

The investment seeks a high level of total return over the long term. The fund invests all of its assets in Class 1 shares of the Global Bond Fund, a series of the American Funds Insurance Series. The Master Fund invests at least 80% of its assets in bonds. The Master Fund invests primarily in debt securities of governmental, supranational and corporate issuers denominated in various currencies, including U.S. dollars. The Master Fund seeks to invest at least 30% of its net assets in issuers outside the United States and intends to invest more than 40% of its net assets in securities of issuers domiciled outside of the United States. It is non-diversified.
