The investment seeks total return, emphasizing current income, and, to a lesser extent, capital appreciation. The fund invests, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes (measured at the time of purchase) in a portfolio of debt instruments. It expects to invest at least 40% of its net assets in non-U.S. investments, except to the extent non-U.S. investments represent less than 40% of the fund's benchmark index.
