The investment seeks to provide capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in equity securities of issuers located throughout the world, including emerging market countries, which the subadviser, believes are trading below their estimated "intrinsic value." It typically invests in equity securities, but the adviser looks at all levels of the capital structure to find what it believes is the best value. The fund typically holds a small number of stocks (generally 20 to 50). It may invest up to 20% of its total assets in "distressed debt," which are fixed income non-investment grade securities of distressed issuers.
