It currently emphasizes investments in equities, but it may also invest in debt securities and may invest up to 25% of its assets in "lower-grade" securities, commonly known as "junk bonds." The fund typically invests in a number of different countries and can invest in any country, including countries with developing or emerging markets. It invests a substantial portion of its assets in small- and mid-sized companies.
