I don't recall how I found this article but it caught my minds-eye and I read-it-over-and-over-all-day. Now..it has made it to my "save file". Making money is none-thing new.
However making money doing something that you love..for example chaning the oil in your broken down car or planting flowers in your yard. Well..you get the point.
I often dream-think about the GOLD RUSH (BITD) back in the day when people heard that there was ..GOLD OUT WEST and you had to take a chance on improving your condition.
Well..this is what BLOGGING is to the millions of writers and dreamers on the NET. I currently produce a bi-weekly commentary.

Interesting to read the actual numbers from some of my fellow personal finance bloggers. I average about $1,500/month on my almost two year old blog Gather Little by Little. One of the key features in my success was hooking up early with a group of personal finance bloggers and forming a network called the M-Network (of which Lynnae from Being Frugal is a member). We helped and supported each other and shared our learnings. It was and still is a huge asset for us.
When I first started, I didn't really realize the amount of work that goes into building a successful blog. Writing is only a very small portion of it. There is link building, relationship building, interacting with readers, managing advertisers, optimizing ads, managing the technology behind the blog and a whole lot more.
I do agree that blogging about something your passionate about is the key. If you're passionate, it comes out in your writing and your readers know it.
Good stuff, and glad to see professional blogging getting some attention. Just don't be fooled into thinking it's a get rich quick strategy, it's not.

Many blogs do not make much money at all (like mine), but blogging has helped me to develop my writing skills so that I can make money by writing for other venues - newspapers, magazines, books, other blogs, etc.
