you can also check out www.hospitalityclub.org. I've stayed with people in Canada and France this way--very nice, both of them.

Nothing new if your parents educated you on using money. I am still working only so I can give more to my kids

I'm a retired woman and would love to find retired teachers who would like to rent a large home or condo and share expenses. I'm open to most area's. I'm super easy to travel with...hey how about renting a farm house in Tuscany...just a thought.

For international trips for far less than $250 per day, check out Overseas Adventure Travel. Their groups are small (max 16 people) and the hotels in Asia, especially Vietnam, are 3 to 4 stars. Elderhostel trips are no bargain in comparison.

What a delight to read of the Woodrings' condo tactic on their trip to Pigeon Forge. Condos and cabins are popular for many other reasons, food preparation among them. The condo tip actually is one that the city's department of tourism (for which I work) suggests in an article called "10 Ways to Save on a Pigeon Forge Vacation." It's at www.MyPigeonForge.com.
