Obama Courts Small-Business Owners

No businessman in his right mind will allow their decision to hire someone to be affected by the presence or absence of a tax credit. No businessman in his right mind would consider the SBA a viable source for financing.

No businessman in his right mind would consider the government, whose only available move is to ADD MORE BUREACRACY a source of recovery. All the government can do is burn wealth. It does not create wealth. "The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other peoples money".

In 1940 we had 3 intelligence agencies, FBI, Navel Intelligence and Army Intelligence. Now how many do we have? 12? and how’s that working out for you?

The problem is not Obama, or the Dems or Republicans. It is, as the crafters of the Constitution warned against, that we have a Ruling Elite, who consider themselves uniquely qualified to lead the “middle class minds”.

Term Limits, Line Item Veto, Limit campaign contributions to $50 from any one source.

Self-employed here with 4 kids-guess you'll have to be in a "union" to get the jobs he's talking about ( do not forget his closed door meetings with the union reps )-What about all our veterans-past & present-His talk is just that-TALK- now that the health care got swept away because of 1 Repulbican winning an election- Look like "his majesty" got what he deserves-We are an educated county & can read through the lines-Oh yea, that's right - the normal American would not understand the bills his cronies put out !!! Boy, many Americans fell for his "speech". What a joke!

The Republican Party has been in control of the government since 1994, and now our standard of living has fallen below that of the United Kingdom, where the liberals have been in charge for 11 years:

For the first time in more than 100 years, British living standards have risen above those of Americans, a report has declared.

Increasing incomes, longer holidays and “free” healthcare have all contributed to making Britons better off than our friends across the Atlantic, according to the respected Oxford Economics consultancy.

The feel-rich factor is calculated using the gross domestic product (GDP) per citizen – an indicator of average incomes – which in Britain will be £23,500 this year, compared with £23,250 in America, it predicts.

Even today, the Democrats took nominal control of Congress in 2006 but Republican have used their veto-proof majorities to remain in control.

Bottom line: the conservative movement is a sham and has been a disaster for America.

More exports...what about less imports. How about slapping a import tax on the products flooding our markets from countries using $.25 an hour labor. When was the last time you picked up an item from a store self that did not say made in China? That is where our jobs have gone! If we just placed a $.05 import tax on every single item imported into this country how long would it take to pay off the national debt?

If you open your eyes, it is clear that news media tryed to paint our Presidents agenda as a great leader trying to do what it right.. What load of crap, he is nothing more that a three dollar bill. He cares not for the people of the US. He cares about power much like Cheves. The difference is true Americans will not stand for his bull. We will try to vote the slugs out, maybe we will impeach the swine. The main difference is we truly love our country, I truely believe God set this Great nation motion with his hand. He (God) want a country that could stand for rightous values. Not that of the Progressive slugs that have infested this country. They are trying to sink a great nation. What do you think Gods thoughts are?

as a small business owner who has now had to suffer through bankruptcy and still trying to keep my business afloat, just put working cash in peoples hands. This spending will go back into the economy, keep what employees we have left and keep all types of repo's from taking place. Get the money in our hands. There will be more repo's and no way to ever have the credit it takes to re-buy if people don't get resources quick. The SBA is harder to get a loan from than anyone, so sure put money where those who need it CAN"T get it. way to go Obama !!!

I agree that small businesses and middle/working class people will benefit the most from this outrageous spending, but will also be the ones affected. The problem isn't in the govt spending, its in the circular nature by which it operates. I am a middle class citizen. I work for a living. I am glad to be getting tax breaks. But how are you going to make up for the loss in tax revenue? Tax wealthy people (aka: business owners) and banks (those who hold the money I make). So, what are they going to do when you increase taxes on them? The bigger businesses will downsize creating more unemployment and banks will start charging higher fees to make up for the loss in revenue it gets from bank accounts. So, in other words...I get to keep more of the money I make (YES!). Then I will just have to pay that difference back to the banks (in turn back to the govt in tax form) or possibly stand the chance of being in a downsized company (NO!). WOW! That's awesome. Do you actually believe in this fuzzy math.

This man can pontifcate 'til the cows come home; he is still a empty suit.

Sam of CA 3:28PM February 02, 2010

Well, this is to encourage people not to work hard- hey because if you own a business, work hard and actually make more than 250 k then you will pay more taxes and your take home salary will probly be lower if you did not work as hard, So the best bet is to sit at home, work less, get more benefits and spend more time at home and take govt handouts!!!

Paul of OH "Republicans recommended revising or eliminating anti-trust laws that protect health insurance companies. Will Democrats finally agree to this?"

Are you kidding me who are you trying to fool here. Republicans agree on tort reform (and so do Democrats) but NOT anti-trust law expemtion. This is already in the house bill that passed. Please go read on the Republicans proposal on health care the antitrust law exemption is not one of them and there were no proposal nor amendement submitted from the republicans on this issue... of the last 40 yrs only 10yrs have Democrats been in power. The Republicans could have reformed healthcare all along if they wanted to. The answer is simple the insurance companies are their big donors.
