6 Ways to Fight Inflation in Retirement

When I were working, and the . coms were flying high, some of my co workers were becoming paper millionaire's and they thought the bubble would never burst. Then the dot coms imploded fast and the market was gyrating all over the place! The downswings were always more then the upswings and the upswings were markets that were not available to us in our 401k plans. Talk about frustrating! After a couple of hits I put the bulk of my investments in stable value fund and let ir ride. I was paying high management fees but I didn't see 30% of my 401k disappear. I made a meager amount in the fund but I can only tolerate a low risk. I made money in a Nasdaq index fund. I am now in annuities now that I'm retired and trying to stay ahead of inflation with rental properties. Great article. Will be following your advice.

Many years ago I purchased an annuity. Now I have an income for life. I realize that inflation at some point will cause a problem down the road, but it is better than wondering what your 401K will do at the whims of the stock market. I do not have sleepless nights. Remember do not put all your money in an annuity, only a portion.
