I am a 33 year old bartender. Will there be any kind of work for me to move out there? Seems like a great place with expats and 1st world infrastructure and security.

I am happy to hear of places to retire that are more cost friendly than what I am currently faceing in the USA. Everytime a place shows up that is affordable the price goes up here. I to have lost faith in retirement in te USA. I wish Mexico was safer. I have friends there and would love to move there but my friends tell me it is to dangerous, so sad I love Mexico! Its just right around the corner from the USA.

I, too, have had my vision clouded by the current administration of the USA. I see it regularly eroded in the world's point of view. If I were you I would go for it. You have to ask yourself "what is the worst thing that could happen?". Make the proverbial pro/con list. Talk you your children, if you can. If the worst thing that could happen is that you lose what you have overseas, is there a safety net coming back to the states? I think that once you're gone you won't miss it.

Folks seem to omit the fact that the US dollar is the paper currency in Pna; no need for conversion rates.

Pna City is crowded but fun if you know the place.

We're buying some land and build a house about an hour from Pna City near a beach. It's a growing gated community.

Additionally, health care costs are less than most US locations.

I am biased, I married a lady from Pna almost 20 years ago. I learned Spanish while stationed there and live there for about 7 years while in the military. It's going to be nice to spend time between there and the USA.

I have thought about Panama before, especially around David. Yes, I know weather is very much different more inland. At my age (70) health issues and with the falling dollar, any monies either in my home, I own outright, and small investments are eroding daily. Politically, the country that I have known, is not what I invison America 'the dream' was meant to be, as it is now eroding almost daily by the current powers that be and we as a nation are becoming more divided and polarized.

I am torn and find myself in a Status Quo position... better to know the devil...etc you know what I mean?

Who can one trust?....or does one go for it one last time?
