How to Save Money on Health Insurance

Whatever you do don't let Medicare or any Medicare plan be your only insurance. I was stricked with Hepitatis C along with 70 others by a nurse anthesist who did not change needles between patients. I was a cultural anthropologist teaching and doing research with Native Americans. I was extremely healthy and did all the right things. Now a 3rd medication is available that has a real chance of stopping this illness. This is a catastophic disease with meds alone over $100,000+ a month for 48 weeks of treatment. My family lost all it had and I am living on disabiltiy - don't think it can't happen to you. There is now a federal mandate that the drug companies are not allowed to supply the medications to Medicare receipients unless the also have Medicaid (I make $90 too much a month) So many of us are merely left to die. After 11 years of illness I now have liver cirrhosis and becoming weaker. My point is - this kind of blantant non-assistance is a very quiet and good way of eliminating baby boomers. This a well hidden part of the horrible healthcare in America. Be very careful with your medical insurance.

Compare the plans before choosing as it is chosen for long-term basis. There are many online sites available to compare the prices for the various plans.

Before comparing, try to know the benefits of the various health insurance plans and then choose. It is also possible to save while you are cared for health.

I am through this site http://www.get-online-insurance-quote.com/health/ when hunting for the ways to save from the insurance plan. As this savings could be more useful in the later stages like after retirement.

Just thought of sharing so that it will be helpful for everyone.

I read today that as much as 80% of medical care costs are related to obesity and the related diseases that follow;

diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, heart attacks, stroke.....

So, why not charge a premium "surcharge" based on heigth vs weight and give the rest of us a break on our premiums?

It is a choice what we put in our mouths and those who make a lifestyle of bad choices should be paying for the consequences.

True preventative care is to live a healthy lifestyle. There's all kinds of studies about the enormous benefits everyone can enjoy simply from eating more fruits and vegetables, don't smoke, get regular moderate exercise and not be overweight. How living this way has evolved into too much effort is a disgrace.
