What do you mean, "my partner"?

Guanajuato is a very Catholic and conservative city. You and your "partner" may find it difficult to be accepted there.

My partner and I plan to retire to this beautiful city! Like any area in the world, there are pro's and con's, the the pro's of this city and surrounding Leon, outweigh any negative aspects! It's a city for lovers, enjoy!

Good article but a couple of quibbles....

"...U.S.-style shopping is available at the modern mall located on the south edge of town, " Ok so we have a grocery store and a Radio Shack there. Its not much but sure an improvement over what we had/didn't have just four years ago.

"... singing romantic serenades imported from 19th-century Spain" 19th? really.

La tradición de las callejoneadas se remonta hacia 1218, cuando fue fundada la Universidad de Salamanca por el rey Alfonso IX de León.
