Our church family has collectively saved $1,200 so far which goes to feed the starving children of the world. 7,000 people die every 12 seconds of starvation, most are children. The people of our Adult Day Health Care program have saved over $755 in quarters so far to feed the starving of the world. It is better to give than to receive.

My husband and I have been putting all of our spare change into a large old glass butterchurn jar for years! When vacation time rolls around, we put whatever money is in there toward our car rental - sometimes we have money left over which we put toward meals. I've started putting aside the dollars that I 'save' by doing my own mani/pedi's at home, not stopping for that tall skinny chai latte at the coffee place, and small things like that for a new kiln to do my enameling with. It does add up rather quickly and I'm always amazed at the final total!

My husband and I realized the value of saving our change when we were kids. That's nothing new. But recently, he came home with a better idea. Now we're saving our dollar bills. Wow, it's profoundly different, and a great way to save.
